Community Based Research Projects for 2016

  • St. Vincent Greenway - South - This research team collaborated with Great Rivers Greenway. The team interviewed community partners from Great Rivers Greenway and users of the south end of St. Vincent Greenway to develop an understanding of the needs people using the greenway express and the ways they use the greenway. Among other insights, the research team observed users making changes to the use of the built environment of the St. Vincent Greenway to afford unplanned recreational activities.
  • St. Vincent Greenway - North - This research team collaborated with Great Rivers Greenway. The team interviewed community partners from Great Rivers Greenway and users of the north end of St. Vincent Greenway to develop an understanding of the needs people using the greenway express and the ways they use the greenwway.
  • River des Peres Watershed - This research team researched the understanding and perceptions of community residents around select portions of the River des Peres Watershed. Interviews were done with residents, members of the River des Peres Watershed Coalition, and representatives of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, along with key insights from Great Rivers Greenway and the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.
  • Economic Justice  - This research team collaborated with Jobs with Justice, Show Me 15, and the Coalition for Truth in Independence to understand the experience of local community activitists and employees advocating to raise the minimum wage in Missouri, as well as to change the way persons living with disability are employed in Sheltered Workshops.
